Chuck on the right side
THIS IS A BLOG THAT TRIES TO APPEAL TO THE AVERAGE CONSERVATIVE CITIZEN AND HAS NO AGENDA OTHER THAN TELLING THE TRUTH AS WE SEE IT.
Do normal people react to situations that call for immediate action by denying that there is a problem that needs to be solved? All the people and government agencies, that are responsible for our national security and our “broken” immigration policy, agree that we need a border wall, where practicable, to deter the invasion of immigrants across our porous border; to prevent the transport of illegal drugs destined to our communities across the country; and the inhuman trafficking of young boys and girls, but we have an obstinate group of politicians (the Democrats) who, because of their innate animus and hatred toward President Trump, refuse to vote to allocate money to build that much needed wall.
Do they really think that putting party above of what is right for the country, the right thing to do? All right, we know that Democrats didn't like the outcome of the last presidential election, but to take out their angst against the best interests of their country, is the height of insanity. The U.S. Border Patrol, I.C.E., and the Office of Homeland Security, all claim that building the wall would be a great deterrent against all those illegal activities mentioned above. Those are the professional voices that our feckless politicians should heed, not the bleeding-heart lefty loons that make up the base of the Democrat Party. The funny thing is (really not so funny), that many of those Democrats who refuse to vote for the money requested by the president to build the wall, previously have voted for a wall before President Trump was elected. What has changed their minds? Would it be partisan politics and Trump hatred that motivates their actions by refusing to give President Trump a “win” on one of his signature promises he made during his campaign for president? That's where insidious insanity comes into play, as you can't seem to reason with these ingrates pretending to do the country's business. They all claim that they believe in border security, but offer, when asked, nothing but empty platitudes and vague solutions to meet this massive problem which challenges our national security. Without an enforceable border, we really don't have a country, just a way station for illegals to take advantage our good nature and generous welfare programs. When is enough, enough? The drain on our economy is real and cannot be economically sustained. It is estimated that it costs the U.S. approximately $138 billion a year to take care of the illegal aliens who contribute approximately $19 billion in government revenue in the form of taxes. Much of the money generated by the illegal aliens is earned “off the books” (non-taxable), and much of the money earned is sent back to their home countries and not spent here. President Trump's priority is to protect the citizens of our country, but he is thrown one roadblock after another by the Democrats who look upon these illegal immigrants as potential Democrat voters in the future. This insidious insanity must end for the sake of our citizens and our country, otherwise we will be a democratic republic with a third world mentality. Do we really want to emulate another Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua? Conservative commentary by Chuck Lehmann

Leaving an entrance door of your home unlocked is dangerous, tempting uninvited intrusion of persons whose aim is to avail themselves of your things you toiled and sacrificed to earn all your life.
There are advocates who believe the United States leave its doors unlocked so that the caravans from Central America have unobstructed entrance, so they can avail themselves, without toil or sacrifice of the things obtained by lawful residing citizens, under pretense of seeking asylum from abusive regimes. Those who have a podium to voice their defense of the caravans claim they consist of old people, women and children, but it is hard to spot them among the hordes of young able bodied males from the videos shown in the news broadcasts. These advocates consist of celebrities, overpaid athletes, media personnel, Congressional members and limo liberals who live safely behind gated communities or hired protection. So many of them are ridiculous people in positions, to be able to steer opinion with distorted facts and half truths, voicing the orchestrated attack of the left. Prime example is the analysis of media pundits from the usual cable networks and leftist politicians, blaming everything wrong on the President and never acknowledging anything good attributed to him. Although Cesar Sayoc, the pipe bomb suspect and Robert Bowers, the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter had traits of derangement long before Donald Trump had any thought of running for president, these ridiculous individuals are trying to ram the square peg blame into the round receptacle of false fact and put their heinous derangements on the President. Conservative Commentary by George Giftos One wonders where some of those liberals (a/k/a Progressives and Democrats) get their ideas or policies for our country - are they just ignorant or just stupid?
Look at what many of them say regarding these areas of debate. They are against erecting a border wall, for championing the mandating of a federal $15 per hour minimum wage, instituting a carbon emissions tax, and proposing the abolition of I.C.E. (Immigration Customs Enforcement) plus other hair-brained pronouncements put forth by the Democrats and their flunky's in the main stream media. Let's take those areas I mentioned above one by one and try to figure out whether they are just ignorant or just stupid. As for the border wall, prominent Democrats were for it before they were against it. In 2006, Senator Joe Biden, Senator Barack Obama, Senator Chuck Schumer, and Senator Hillary Clinton were all in favor of building a border wall. You'd think that they were mouthing the words spoken today by President Donald Trump. What has changed since then, could it be that our president is now Donald Trump? Is the Pope Catholic? Next, most of the Democrats are in favor of mandating a federal $15 per hour minimum wage, which goes against most economists who say that it would be a disaster for those workers the Democrats pretend they want to help. Many of the entry-level jobs for the inexperienced and minimally educated workers will no longer be available, as employers will cut back on their payroll costs and institute the employment of machines to take the place of workers. An idle, young, unemployed worker then will be more prone to getting involved in activities, like crime, that is a negative in our social construct. In addition, The Democrats say that we must restrict carbon dioxide emissions, as if it was possible to control Mother Nature? They fail to tell us that carbon dioxide, instead of being a pollutant, is actually a plant and tree food that has increased food production around the world. The natural disasters that they claim “global warming” is responsible for have been with us since time began when fossil fuels were not used to any great extent. When they claim and prove that they can control Mother Nature, is the time we should listen to those hucksters. And finally, as our country is being over run by illegal aliens, the Democrats want to abolish the very people who are sworn to protect us, the I.C.E. men and women who are in charge of enforcement of our immigration laws. Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue if I.C.E. was not in existence? Do you chalk that up to just plain ignorance or do you chalk it up to just plain stupidity by having a closed mind and a hatred for our president, Donald Trump? It seems that most all those detractors are blinded to the facts by their loony liberal ideology. They seem to place party loyalty above the best interests of the country. I, therefore conclude, that their ignorance can be cured, but their actions point to them being just plain stupid. Conservative commentary by Chuck Lehmann I don't know whether you remember the old Peter Seller's classic movie called, “Being There” (1979), about an unassuming gardener who is mistaken for a brilliant philosopher, but it seems we have an actual remake of that movie going on right now in Wash. D.C.
Although people will criticize me for making a comparison between female Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the male Peter Sellers character, Chauncey Gardner, it was too obvious a connection, to me, not to make it into my column which I am now presenting to you. Besides, we, in America, have a 1st Amendment right to make a comment(s) on anything and anyone within reason. I am exercising that right. Over the past eight years of the Obama Administration, we have seen what a total lack of vetting by the media, pundits, and the Democrat Party can do when they “tie their wagon” to a candidate with a total lack of experience in all areas of governing, domestically, economically, in foreign affairs and, in the case of Obama, the presidency of the United States itself. This woman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, newly elected N.Y. Congresswoman, according to her most ardent followers, cannot do any wrong, and no amount of evidence of her “screw ups” on her part can change their minds. She is a genius, she is profound, and she's the smartest woman in the world, and on and on and on as the platitudes drip from their lips in describing their new female “Messiah”, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. As Chauncey Gardner (Peter Seller's character) went around Wash. D.C. making statements that made no sense whatsoever, the more profound his statements became to the “intelligentsia” (a/k/a Progressives) and the more they clamored for more statements from this illiterate person who they deemed a genius. If you are in a gathering of Cortez or Bernie Sanders “Kool-Aid” drinkers and supporters, the same statements that were made about Chauncey Gardner are made about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, even though most people don't know where she is coming from, policy wise. Her incoherent policy statements (which seems to say, “Let me be perfectly clear”) toward Israel, the Middle East, energy, health care, jobs, and socialism, are just examples of how supposedly educated people can get caught up into the human phenomenon of “idol and cult” worship. As Bill O'Reilly used to say after his every show, “The spin stops here”, the Cortez cultists always use the “spin” to make what Cortez says and does more palatable than what it really is. The “spin “ goes on 24/7 each and every day all year round. My answer to these poor souls is that, “You can't polish horse manure”, but, alas, it is like talking to a brick wall. To be honest, many voters who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 are still spouting platitudes about her losing radical program, and the similar radical program now put forth by both Cortez and Bernie Sanders. So if any of you get a chance, get a copy or see the Peter Seller's film, “Being There”, and see if a connection can be made between Chauncey Gardner and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. You might be surprised and your head might just nod in agreement. Conservative commentary by Chuck Lehmann While Fox, breaking in with latest events, CNN breaks in to vent another tirade against the President. It appears logic is missing in CNN commentary in favor of critiquing Donald Trump's achievements, offering little or nothing to back up the criticism.
Since the Clintons' usefulness has diminished, Liberals are looking at the bottom of their shoes to see what they stepped in, because the odor of decomposing heroes, along with the collapse of the Obama apology era permeating the air, they are desperately searching for something to keep them in the game. During the 2016 Republican presidential primary, I was critical of candidate Donald Trump because of his rough around the edge style. I grew up in Jamaica, Queens. A few blocks away from the Trump family home Donald grew up in, almost a half generation after me. People will say that's how many of us appear to them, from the New York city metropolitan area. I may still have a trace, even though I've lived in many other parts of the country. I was quick to put Donald Trump down because he didn't sound like the Hollywood elocution coached phonies, like the really crude Robert De Niro, who make their living pretending to be somebody else. I've learned it would be to my folly if I dismiss a doctor who has the skill to save my life, because he has bad breath. That is why I will not make the mistake of dissing a leader who has the skill to keep America great. Conservative Commentary by George Giftos Have you listened to the “news” broadcasts of CNN or MSNBC lately? Almost 100% of the air time on those stations is devoted to anti-Trump and anti-Republican bashing, it's like no other news is happening in our country and around the world. You could, in all honesty, call those media outlets, “Merchants of Venom”.
Both CNN and MSNBC (you could also include ABC, CBS, NBC, and NPR) have zero right of center “talking heads” manning their news programs. It seems most all the hosts have had ties to the Democrat Party at one time or another. A recent Harvard study found that 90% of stories in the main stream media and cable news shows, about President Trump and the Republicans, were negative in tone and substance. The exception to this lopsided approach to the news would be Fox News Channel and a few radio stations (ex: Rush Limbaugh, Larry Elder, Mark Levin etc.) which lean center-right. CNN prides itself as being “The Most Trusted Name in News”, but if you listen to them it is negative President Trump and negative Republican Party 90% of the time, that's “trusted news”? The same for MSNBC, it is almost like a broken record. You'd think, by listening to those stations, that President Trump was the second-coming of Adolph Hitler. They really do have an advanced case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). It is safe to say that Fox News Channel slants center-right in its opinion shows (Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham), but they at least have quite a stable of liberal contributors (Jessica Tarlov, Geraldo Rivera, Chris Hahn, Richard Goodstein, Juan Williams, Alan Dershowitz, Richard Fowler, Leslie Marshall etc., etc.) on most all shows to balance the conservative viewpoint. CNN and MSNBC have opposition guests (conservatives) only on occasion, and that person is almost always outnumbered by 4 or 5 to one. They sometimes balance off their opposition line-up by placing a RINO (Republican in Name Only) on a panel and then claim a political balance (ex: Ana Navarro, Max Boot, and Bill Kristol) when in fact they are really “Never-Trumpers”. Even the main stream broadcast stations of ABC, CBS, NBC, have only former Democrat operatives leading up their news shows (ex: Lesley Stahl, George Stefanopoulous, Andrea Mitchell, Van Jones, Chuck Todd etc.) with nary a conservative in sight. Also, the late night shows are almost all loaded with left-leaning hosts (ex: Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and at HBO, Bill Maher). In addition, the comedy show on NBC, Saturday Night Live, is bashing President Trump and the Republicans almost every week. All of theses persons and shows listed above could very easily be called “ The Merchants of Venom”. People complain that President Trump should not attack the media like he does so often, but when the vast majority of the news media is trashing you day in and day out, what would you expect him to do, sit back and take all the slams, vituperation's, and brick-bats without defending himself and his policies? Ever since he won the election over their favored candidate, Hillary Clinton, the media has been on a crusade to drive him from office, come hell or high water. They never acknowledge any of the positive things that has happened, during the past two years, under President Trump, in the areas of the U.S. economy and foreign affairs. I'm sure, if the media showed him some semblance of fairness in its coverage of him, he wouldn't have to or need to fight back like he does now. So yes, the “Merchants of Venom” have found their prey, and President Trump is in their sights 24/7. It's amazing that President Trump's approval rating is around 50% with all the negativity surrounding him by the Democrats, and both in the print and on the visual media. You could say that President Trump is being judged by his actions and not by his words (or “Tweets”). Conservative commentary by Chuck Lehmann What do we have to look forward to when the new Democrat majority controlled House of Representatives convenes in January, 2019? Is anything positive being planned by the Democrats or will it be Trump bashing from day one to the 2020 election?
Ah, for the good ole days of Democrat Tip O'Neill and Republican Newt Gingrich, who worked for bi-partisan agreements that had positive effects for our country, even though the president was of the opposing party. Speaker O'Neill worked with President Reagan on the “Reagan tax cuts”, and Speaker Newt Gingrich worked with President Clinton on getting “welfare reform”. Will this same bi-partisan cooperation come about during this new Congress? From the looks of things and the rhetoric of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and others in the Democrat caucus, who some might call the”Disciples of Chaos”, they won't give an inch whereby President Trump might gain some positive advantage, even for doing right to our country. Their anger and antipathy is so blatant, that they threaten to shut down the government rather than give President Trump a winning issue (it could also be a winning issue for them if they weren't so blinded by their liberal ideology and their hatred for Trump). Take the issue of the “border wall”. A few short years ago, many Democrats, including Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, and Diane Feinstein, were all in favor of building a wall to cut down on illegal immigration, human trafficking, and drug smuggling, but since President Trump was elected to the White House, they have all done a 180 degree turn and are now against it. I'd bet that if Trump came out against the wall, the Democrats would all be in favor of building it out of spite and visceral hatred of the president. The new majority in the House (the Democrats) are saying that they will be going after President Trump, not only on his decisions as president, but on his personal affairs. Some might say, “what is good for the goose is good for the gander” as it's payback time, and their goal is to wound President Trump so badly that he will either not run for re-election or that he will be so damaged that he will be defeated by the voters in 2020. With 90% of the media backing up the vengeful Democrats, it will be an uphill battle for Trump to prevail. But, never underestimate President Trump, as he usually wins when everyone else has counted him out. If the Democrats follow-up on their threats against Trump, there will be chaos in our country and around the world as Trump's enemies will smell blood in the water if the president is “wounded” in any way, thereby making our country less of a threat, both economically and militarily. We must not let the “”Disciples of Chaos” get the upper hand in setting our policy goals. We can't have all the good that has happened these past two years be upended by these trolls masquerading as sensible, compassionate politicians. As Benjamin Franklin replied to the woman who asked him, as the debate over the Constitution was about to be voted on, “Well, Doctor (Franklin), what have we got, a republic or a monarchy”? Franklin replied, “A republic, if you can keep it”. Let's hope we can keep what Franklin offered us. Conservative commentary by Chuck Lehmann |
