Chuck Lehmann, who lives in Delray Beach, Florida, is a product of the NYC public schools, a graduate of St. John’s University with his graduate work done at Hofstra University. He was a varsity baseball player at St. John’s, and after graduation he played 3 years in professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox farm system. His working career included real estate sales, owner/operator of a laundry/dry cleaning business, over 30 years as a business education teacher at Syosset H.S., Syosset, N.Y. and Wantagh H.S., Wantagh, N.Y. In addition, jobs as a recreation/social director at resorts in the Pocono Mountains in PA., sales and marketing for a timeshare resort, a couple of stints as a social host on the Royal Viking Cruise Line. He has an illustrious journalistic career, writing editorials for the "Canada Free Press" for 5 years, as well as the The Published Reporter and the Delray Sun, supplement publications in the Sun-Sentinel newspaper for the past 8 years, and writes for the online publication Wheels on the Road. He has also been the editorialist-in-chief at the "Chuck on the Right Side" blog for the past 10 years. He is the father of 4 grown children and three grandchildren.

Born & raised in Loch Raven, suburb of Baltimore, MD. December 29, 1926. Graduated Towson High School, June 1943.
Joined the U. S. Navy December 12, 1944. Trained as Aviation Ordnanceman / Combat Aircrewman, top turret gunner on PV-1 Patrol Bomber. Received Honorable Discharge on May 11, 1946. After Navy Service, rejoined former employer in Baltimore women’s retail store as window display manager. In 1950, married and moved to Washington, D.C. as Display Director with Bond’s Men’s Clothing retailer in Washington, D.C. Began family of four children. In 1955, opened a one-man sign & display shop in D.C. Within a year or two, began to design & produce exhibits for trade shows & museums. In 1960, moved to larger location in D.C. In 1965, moved to a 13,000 sq. ft. location in nearby Maryland, producing exhibits for AT&T and other top 500 corporations. Closed that business after 38 successful years. Remarried in 1977. Worked from home on the waterfront in Annapolis, MD. producing art prints from original paintings of wildlife & water birds. Enjoyed sailing and life on the Chesapeake Bay. Designed & illustrated the first official White House Coloring Book and did a number of book signings in D.C., MD and VA. Moved to Boynton Beach, Florida in late 1998. Became active in Conservative politics. Continued writing for blogsites, drawing pen portraits & painting wildlife. Still at it in 2019. |
