THIS IS A BLOG THAT TRIES TO APPEAL TO THE AVERAGE CONSERVATIVE CITIZEN AND HAS NO AGENDA OTHER THAN TELLING THE TRUTH AS WE SEE IT.
That phrase in the headline was uttered by 16th century Florentine philosopher, Niccolo Machiavelli, primarily known for his political ideas. The statement refers to a total lack of scruples by those who used that theory in real life. If a goal is morally important enough, any method of getting it is acceptable, as the rationale goes.
Does that strike you as something the Democrats have done and continue to do to maintain and acquire more power? It seems that word has gone out to the liberal troops and a pliant partisan media that henceforth, the Republicans should be referred to as “extremists” as well as being “UN-democratic”. If the opposition is labeled in those terms by the Democrats, it is logical that the opposition must then be defeated by any means possible. This is what Donald Trump has faced ever since he rode down the escalator at Trump Tower with Melania, prior to announcing his Republican candidacy for President. Prior to his announcement, Trump was effusively praised by Democrats, especially those looking for political donations, and by “racial hustlers,” Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. However, once he announced his run for President, all that good-will changed and he became the the liberal Democrats #1 pariah. Then, when he was elected, the knives came out in full force. Before Trump's inauguration, which many Democrats boycotted, immediate calls from the halls of Congress and the media, demanded his impeachment. He was designated as being “evil incarnate”, and the phrase about the end justifies the means, was accepted as a viable aim as it related to President Trump. During the 4 years of his presidency, Trump had to fend off one charge after another, the biggest one being his 'collusion' with the Russians to win the election of 2016. This charge took over 2 years of an investigation by special prosecutor Robert Mueller to see if Donald Trump was in cahoots with Putin and the Russians. Eventually, after almost $40 million in taxpayer dollars spent investigating this charge, Mueller found no tie-in with Trump and the Russians, in other words, the whole thing was a hoax with both Hillary Clinton and the Democrat Party as the one's who were colluding with the Russians and spreading the misinformation about Trump and the Russians. So far, neither Hillary or the Democrats have been charged with their chicanery in perpetuating the hoax. Is it because they are Democrats? Is the Pope Catholic? After Trump was exonerated, the Democrats, while licking their wounds, tried to impeach Trump again, this time over a phone call he had with Ukrainian President Zelensky. Again, the Democrat controlled House of Representatives, failed to get an impeachment conviction in the Senate. Another phony “end” being used against the “evil” Trump, which failed miserably in the Democrats unethical attempt to remove Trump from office. The final piece of the scenario to marginalize Trump was another impeachment trial, during the presidential transition. It was in reference to the January 6th riot at the Capitol. Again the Democrats failed to convict him in the Senate. But, TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) was so ingrained in the psyche of the Democrats, that they have, just recently, almost 2 years after he left office, went after him again. With the Biden Administration plunging into one disaster after another, and Joe's poll numbers in the dumper, the Democrats embarked on another caper in an attempt to get something on Trump that would prevent him from running against the Democrats in 2024. The sanctimonious Democrats instituted a Justice Department and FBI raid on Trump's home at Mar-A-Lago, with a broad warrant claiming they were looking for secret documents that Trump took with him when leaving office instead of giving them to the US National Archives Office. It looks like they tried to find “smoking gun” evidence that could be used to secure an indictment, thus preventing Trump from another Presidential run. I predict it will be another Democrat boondoggle in their quest to get rid of their nemesis, Donald Trump. So the phrase, "the end justifies the means" seems to have backfired against the Democrats as most citizens realize that the ends of trying to get Trump, do not justify the means that they have used to accomplish that. When I was a Democrat, I realized I was being told what to think rather than how to think. Liberalism became a form of faux compassion for self-satisfaction and personal gain. The infiltration and dominance of progressive socialists into the party has now put the final nail in the coffin for me to secure my independence. Their purpose is not to form a more perfect union, but rather to hate all that America stands for and represents. It is now coming to a crescendo with the support of the media. Let's look at two current events meant to brainwash the people and eliminate our two party system. The farcical January 6th hearings is a one-sided Kangaroo Court misrepresented as the supposed preservation of our Constitutional Republic, followed by Gestapo-like tactics raiding an ex-President's home, executed under the guise of retrieving classified documents. In reality, they were desperately attempting to pin a crime on Donald Trump, to prevent his run for office in 2024.
This, sadly, is Third World regression. Conservative Commentary by George Giftos Could that headline be used to describe Joe Biden and his Administration? Look at what he did immediately upon being sworn in as President. Biden took his pen to paper and tried to undo the initiatives of his predecessor, Donald Trump, which benefitted the United States and its citizens. Out of pique or hatred of Trump, Biden put forth the following executive orders. He canceled the Keystone pipeline that was bringing Canadian oil to the refineries in the United States; he rejoined the Paris Agreement on climate change; he repealed Trump's restrictions on travel from certain Muslim countries; he stopped construction of Trump's southern border wall; he instituted a sweeping immigration reform bill that as result we have had an invasion of up to 2 million illegal migrants crossing our border into the United States; he began to reverse Trump's steps to roll back environmental regulations; he instituted a move to bring "equity" within the government by giving
job preferences to minorities, etc. As Biden's Administration is nearing almost two years in office, the stupidity of his actions are piling up. What stupid policies of Biden are we facing today? Well, let's make a list. Biden, by ignorance or stupidity, withdrew from Afghanistan without a plan to get all our citizens out from Taliban control, and by leaving and estimated $80 billion of military arms and equipment for the Taliban. Also, 13 American military were murdered because of this stupidity. A tremendous increase in the price of fuel oil, mainly in gasoline and home heating oil. The price recently has decreased over the past few weeks, but it is still way above what it was when Biden was inaugurated. The price of food still remains very high and the shortage of certain products remain scarce (ex: baby formula). He has proposed enormous government spending programs that most economists claim have added fuel to the fire of inflation. The Democrats and Biden, in order to con the public, have given these legislative moves "flowery titles or names" that make them sound better than what they actually are. For instance the "Infrastructure Bill", which supposedly was billed as a sweeping measure to upgrade our crumbling infrastructure (a $1.2 trillion boondoggle), but most of the bill, about 85%, was for "pork", for the Congressmen and Senators, instead of infrastructure. Just recently, the Democrats passed a version of the Biden named "Build Back Better" bill that was scaled down to appeal to two recalcitrant Democrats, Manchin and Sinema, but still is going to spend an additional $750 billion. They call that the "Inflation Reduction Act", but most economists and the Congressional Budget Office have claimed that it will add to the inflation not reduce it. In that bill, they plan on raising taxes, supposedly on wealthy people, but with the hiring of 87,000 IRS agents, it will affect mostly poor a middle-income people. Most all of these measures passed with only Democrat support with a few or no Republicans voting in favor. Where was the bi-partisanship that Biden said he would strive for during his campaign for President? To compound the stupidity of Biden and his Administration, his Justice Department under Attorney General, Merrick Garland and the FBI, have instituted a raid on ex-President's Trump living compound, Mar-A-Lago, supposedly looking for top- secret papers Trump was supposedly hiding. For whatever reason, Garland decided to raid Trump's house, with 30 armed FBI agents, instead of issuing a subpoena to get a look at those papers as Trump had agreed to previously. Some have speculated that the main reason for the raid was to try to find something that they might use to indict Trump with what was going on with the Jan. 6th Congressional Select Committee, with the main purpose of preventing Trump from running for President again in 2024. Their hatred for Trump knows no bounds. So yes, you could say that everyone is entitled to be stupid, but through his actions and rhetoric, it seems that Biden has abused the privilege. This is all the more reason for the Republicans to take back leadership in both the House and Senate this November. Conservative Commentary by Chuck Lehmann The Democrats, in their misguided wisdom, are planning on hiring 85,000 additional income tax auditors, in their misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act”. Who are they going to audit to get revenue to pay for their profligate spending, the “big cats” of industry, or you and me the majority of tax payers?
Of course, the Democrats, as usual, as their tax and spend priorities come to the forefront, are going to put the screws on the poor and middle class to help pay for their wasteful programs because the majority of the country fits into those categories. Instead, they should be looking to tax the endowment funds of the elite universities who are bubbling over with mostly tax free endowment funds. During the Trump Administration, they administered a 1.4% excise tax on schools which only was a pittance of a tax as to what those schools had in their endowment portfolios. The presidents of many of those universities are now lobbying Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), to even get rid of that 1.4% excise tax. Is it “fair” that many universities, who keep raising their tuition fees way above the consumer price index, with their billions of dollars of endowments, to not contribute to the general welfare by paying their “fair share” in taxes? Harvard's endowment grew to $53.2 billion just last year – the highest in the nation after the school reported a 33% return on investment, and yet they still increased student tuition. It isn't just Harvard who has accumulated such bloated endowments. The other Ivy League schools also are sitting on loads of endowment money. Another elite school, Stanford University, endowments swelled to $42 billion, a 40.1% return on investment. Over the past number of years, many schools have added to their endowments while they have raised student tuition fees to astronomical levels, whereas a 4 year university degree could cost a family from $100,000 to $300,000, depending on the school the student is attending. Why don't these wealthy colleges and universities use some of those excess funds in their endowments to reduce tuition to levels where even the average student and his family could afford to pay, instead of constantly raising tuition? Could it be that the federal government guarantees most all of the student loans, thereby giving the wealthy schools a guaranteed income flow? Once the government got involved in guaranteeing student loans, tuition rates skyrocketed. Here are some of the endowments of universities other than Harvard and Stanford. (approximate figures) University of Texas $44 billion University of Virginia $11 billion Yale University $33 billion Princeton University $26 billion M.I.T. $19 billion University of Pennsylvania $16 billion Texas A&M $14 billion Notre Dame University $14 billion University of Michigan $14 billion Columbia University $13 billion etc., etc. In addition to those elite schools, the average of all universities was approximately $1.6 billion which is more than the GDP of many countries around the world. The word “fairness” is bandied about, by mainly Democrats, but when it comes to taxing their politically Democrat strongholds, the colleges and universities, they are loathe to impose taxes on them. Why should they get a break when the average person and businesses are taxed to the hilt? Let these colleges and universities pay their “fair share” instead of giving them a pass while they gouge the public with their outrageous tuition fees and hikes. Conservative Commentary by Chuck Lehmann That phrase was voiced by Chico Marx in the movie “Duck Soup” (he's the brother of Groucho Marx), which most assuredly can be used to describe the actions of the Biden Administration now that the report has come out stating we have had two quarters of negative GDP, which is the true definition of a recession, but not according to Joe Biden and his economic flunky's in his Administration. To listen to them, we are not in a recession, but we're in the throes of an economic boom. They must think everybody else is as stupid as they are to believe such obvious nonsense. As I've said before relating to the sign that former President Harry Truman had on his desk that stated, “The Buck Stops Here”, but to Biden it should read, “The Buck Never Gets Here”. These incompetent clowns, most of whom, never had a job in the business sector, proclaim this nonsense with a straight face.
Nobody in their right mind wants to go through a recession, but it's the result of poor economic thinking by Biden and his cronies to get rid of all the positive economic ideas of his predecessor, Donald Trump. Trump, with all his warts, had this country's economy humming with record low unemployment, especially among the minorities. We were energy independent and an energy exporter, not having to rely on foreign energy. The stock market was booming and wages of workers were on the rise. Companies who fled to overseas were coming back to the United States due to the favorable tax policies that Trump initiated. Even with a Chinese pandemic ravaging our country and the world, the economic policies were working, but then came the Biden Administration which took a chain saw to most all these workable policies out of pique and hatred by Biden against Trump, on day one of his administration, and look at where we are today, at the start of a recession, how deep it goes only time will tell. Biden's tenure in the White House has been nothing short of an outright disaster. Even his fellow Democrats, when polled, 75% said they don't want him to run for re-election. His favorability rating has hit the low 30's which is a bad omen for the Democrats in the upcoming mid-term elections. Voters have a tendency to vent their anger at the party in power by voting for the “out” party when the mid-terms come about. Most all pundits predict a wipe out of the Democrats, unless the Republicans can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like they've done in the past. Besides the economic disasters plaguing The Biden Administration, the other thorns in their side are the rampant crime that is infecting most of our cities, and starting to leak into the more affluent suburbs. This includes the lax law enforcement of the by radical mayors and prosecutors which seem to favor the criminal over their victims. You could hear only crickets from the Democrats as this dire situation goes mostly not condemned by them, as the anarchist groups of ANTIFA and BLM are mostly aligned with the Democrats. An example of this phenomenon was our now Vice-President Kamala Harris putting up bail money for the violent protesters arrested during the violent summer of 2020, and the lack of Democrats in condemning the calling for harassment of Republicans and Supreme Court Justices. To the Democrats it's like nothing is wrong. So yes, who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes? Conservative Commentary by Chuck Lehmann |
