Chuck on the right side
THIS IS A BLOG THAT TRIES TO APPEAL TO THE AVERAGE CONSERVATIVE CITIZEN AND HAS NO AGENDA OTHER THAN TELLING THE TRUTH AS WE SEE IT.
Are we becoming another Soviet Union? The phrase in the headline was spoken by Lavrentiy Beria, who was the Chief of the Soviet Secret Police, during Josef Stalin's tenure in the Soviet Union. It has relevance today in our country with the attempted prosecution of former President Donald Trump by a far-left, Democrat, radical Marxist prosecutor, Alvin Bragg, who had been elected to office with campaign contributions from that anti-American, George Soros. He is now the district attorney in the Borough of Manhattan in New York City.
Whoever heard of bringing charges against a former president, in this case, Donald Trump, for allegedly paying a porn star to drop a frivolous lawsuit about indulging in an affair from many years prior, and for which the former president denies? Wealthy people do that all the time to avoid the bad publicity that a lawsuit like that would cause them grief with his life, and for his family. Besides the extortion attempt by the porn actress, Stormy Daniels, and Trump's former lawyer, the disgraced Michael Cohen, who is now a disbarred lawyer and a convicted felon, the prosecutor Bragg is using those two as the main witnesses against Trump. Both have zero credibility, but it seems Bragg is going ahead with this prosecution regardless of the evidence in order to smear the reputation of the hated Donald Trump in hopes of preventing him from running for president again. This whole vindictive charade looks like an episode of the old “Keystone Kops” of yesteryear. Even though the evidence is tainted, the Democrats and Bragg are going ahead with this ridiculous legal procedure, against the legal advice of most esteemed professional lawyers like Alan Derschowitz and Jonathan Turley. If this outrage is permitted to be used by the Democrats and the “Deep State” bureaucrats, we are becoming like a third world “Banana Republic”. How did we come to this stage in our history? Is it the inordinate desire on the part of the radical Democrats to keep and remain in power at all costs? It certainly appears to be that. The end should not justify the means. In addition, look what has happened to many of the people, Trump supporters, who participated in the breach of the Capitol on Jan. 6. No sane person condones what happened on Jan. 6, but the “Deep State”, headed up by a Trump hating Justice Dep't., has gone after many of those protesters who did not cause violence or damage to the Capitol building. The organized groups of hooligans who caused the damage and violence, not the peaceful Trump supporters who got caught up in the frenzy of the moment, are the one's who should be charged with crimes, including a guy caught on video tape urging others to breach the Capitol, by the name of Ray Epps, who has been free of any charges against him. It has been rumored that he was part of cadre of people working undercover for the disgraced FBI. Some of the peaceful protesters are still in jail. Shouldn't they have had to pay a fine and serve probation, not be kept in jail for over a year? They are not terrorists as the Democrats and their lackey's in the media want to portray them. That is not “even” justice under the law. The hatred for former President Trump on the part of the Democrats must end and saner and calmer heads should and must prevail. The old adage of “agree to disagree in a peaceful manner” should be the prevailing mantra of our country going forward, and I might add, stop the hatred toward individuals you don't agree with. We can't continue to use the tactics of Lavrentiy Beria in our democratic republic, otherwise our standing in the world will be compromised. It's bad enough that we have an Administration that is undermining our democracy and making us the laughing stock of the world. Let's make our dearly departed “Founding Fathers” proud in their graves by returning to the principles they gave us in the Declaration of Independence and our U.S. Constitution. God bless America. Should DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) be Changed to ADH (Alienation, Division, and Hatred)?3/19/2023 There seems to be a very vocal group of radicals within the United States whose major intention is to create havoc among its citizens. Pitting one group of Americans against another group of Americans seems to be the “modus operandi” of this group of anti-American zealots.
The words Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) seem innocuous enough, if that was the real intention of the radical groups pushing this agenda. However, like most leftist ideology, it is a smokescreen to advance their socially destructive policies. Flowery words used to camouflage their real intentions are what these groups use to get what they want - total chaos among the citizens that make up our society. Those groups includes BLM, ANTIFA, Green Energy zealots, and some White Supremacists, etc.) If you challenge these DEI zealots, you will be cast as a racist, a homophobe, a sexist, a bigot, and a Fascist, among other epithets. The terms “cancel culture” and “political correctness” can be derived from the actions of these activists. You must adhere to what they believe or you will be vilified by one of those terms mentioned above, and you might even lose your job. These radicals, pushing their agenda, want us to “pretend” that men can become women, and women can become men, to “pretend” that our economy is the best its been in 40 years and that inflation is only “transitory”, and they want us to “pretend” that the invasion of illegal aliens and illegal drugs into our country is of no problem to us as a country. It boggles the mind that people could fall for these lies, and in some cases elect politicians who espouse these destructive policies. This DEI agenda has been instituted and propagated in our public schools, colleges and universities, and in many cases without the parents being aware of the intended indoctrination of their children which is being taught in the hallowed halls of academia. When parents realize that their children have been subjected to this indoctrination, they are then motivated to confront the education authorities to try to stop this intrusion into parental authority. In some cases, when parents voice their opposition at school board meetings or to the Board of Trustees, they are confronted with the possibility of being shut up and even the possibility of arrest (like what happened in Virginia). This is what the state of our union is facing from the actions of these radical zealots. Our country is now so divided that even former friends are now enemies. It seems that we can't disagree without being disagreeable to one another. From the time that former President Obama exclaimed that he wanted to “fundamentally change America” and that racism was ingrained in our society, to when President Biden called conservatives “Ultra MAGA's” and Fascists, it has been downhill from there. Our forefathers must be turning over in their graves from what is happening in our country today. It seems the end (gaining and keeping power) justifies the means of how to accomplish that goal. The media and the “Deep State” (entrenched unelected bureaucrats) seem to have taken sides (mostly favoring the Democrats) which makes matters worse in trying to bring sanity back into our lives. That's where ADH (Alienation, Division, and Hatred) seems to have found a home in our lives as a replacement for DEI. We must scrap the term DEI as being antithetical to the proper workings of our great country, or we will be hoisted on the scrapheap of history if we don't change. Conservative Commentary by Chuck Lehmann Those words from the biblical story of Cain and Abel, came to symbolize people's unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of their fellows – their brothers and sisters in the extended sense of the term. The traditions of Judaism and Christianity is that people do have this responsibility to help others.
The liberals have stretched that definition to include the government as the primary “keeper” not the individual. This, of course, takes a load off the shoulders of the individual and puts it squarely on the shoulders of everybody else, whether they want that responsibility or not. It is honorable for people to go out of their way to come to the aid of a less fortunate person (a brother/sister) to help that person get back on his/her feet, or to help solve the problem he/she is confronted with. It is the right thing to do. And most religions preach that as part of their dogma. But, when you get the government involved, sometimes called the “nanny state”, you take away the need for the individual to do the right thing by shifting the responsibility to an “impersonal” entity called the government. When that occurs, you will see the government start to intrude in all aspects of our lives – sometimes good, but mostly bad. The “impersonal” government then becomes rife with favoritism and corruption because the bureaucrats, running the government agencies and programs, are dealing with other peoples money ( your tax money) and not their own, therefore, waste and inefficiency become the norm rather than the exception. Why are most all the “nanny state” countries going broke? In our country Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Farm programs, Amtrak, Energy department, Post Office etc. (all government sponsored agencies and programs) are all fraught with waste, inefficiency and, in many cases, outright corruption? Are they really our “brother's/sister's keeper” or are they self-perpetuating government “piggy banks” for the well-connected politicians and unelected bureaucrats? Look what is happening in Europe, where an advanced mentality of pursuing “cradle to the grave” policies, has placed Europeans in the precarious situation of trying to prevent themselves from going bankrupt. It didn't happen overnight, but the “Piper” is now coming home to be paid and these countries are unable to pay him. Riots and civil unrest are now raising their ugly heads, in these socialist-oriented “nanny states”, because many of the entitlements that these countries “gave” to the people now have to be cut back (especially in France). The old adage of “there is no such thing as a free lunch” is coming back to bite them in the butt big time. That should be a warning and a wake-up call for Americans, but the “liberal demagogues” are sharpening their knives to eviscerate the challenge to the “nanny state” programs which were enacted with good intentions, but have proven to be too costly to be maintained now and into the future. The “Piper” will be visiting us sooner rather than later unless we wake up before it is too late. Yes, we have a moral obligation to be our “brother's/sister's keeper”, but without the heavy hand of the government. In the words of former President Ronald Reagan, “Government is not the answer to our problems, government is the problem”. Conservative Commentary by Chuck Lehmann Since the 2020 elections, the Democrats, in unison, are throwing out the idea that Republicans are attacking our democracy. Is that true or are they projecting what they are actually doing instead of what the Republicans are doing?
Let's examine that dubious charge of which party is really trying to attack our democracy. Who wants to pack the Supreme Court? That's the Democrats. Who wants to do away with the Electoral College? That's the Democrats. Who wants to defund the police? That's the Democrats. Who packed a Select House Committee with ONLY like minded individuals who hated Donald Trump? That's the Democrats. Who has encouraged illegal aliens to invade our country, and letting most remain unvetted as they are scattered throughout the United States? That's the Democrats. Who has turned a blind eye to the Mexican cartels who have smuggled tons of poisonous drugs into our country? That's the Democrats. Who wants to make fossil fuels illegal by the year 2035, thereby raising gas and home heating oil prices creating hardship levels for most poor and middle class consumers? That's the Democrats. Who has accepted donated “blood money” from that “evil” George Soros, as he undermines our legal justice system by financing radical prosecutors around the country? That's the Democrats. Who lies about the Republicans wanting to do away with Social Security and Medicare? That's the Democrats. As you can see, it's not the Republicans who are attacking our democracy, it is the Democrats. One of the most insidious ways which the lies of the Democrats are using to subvert our democracy is in the area of “Climate Change” (a/k/a global warming). The climate change fanatics are claiming that if we don't restrict the use of fossil fuels that powers our democratic republic (which is what our country is, not a pure democracy), we will not exist in 10 years (another apocalyptic prophesy that will not come true). Meanwhile, if they get their way, it will make our country poorer along with the rest of the world. This is what the “Globalists” are aiming for, and most of them are millionaires and billionaires (isn't it ironic?). As one of our sage forefathers, Ben Franklin, once stated, “We are a republic if you can keep it”, but that advice seems to have fallen on the deaf ears of the Democrats. Our Constitution has served us well for over 234 years and it is looked upon with envy by countries around the world. Look at all the people who want to get into our country, both legally and illegally. Is it because we are a Marxist/Socialist country or is it because we are a free enterprise capitalist country and a democratic republic? Since our education system leaves a lot to be desired, with our students woefully lacking in knowing and understanding our history, the demagoguery of the Democrats find a willing clientele. Over the past few years we've seen some of our government agencies cross over to the “dark side” by colluding with some of our private companies to try to “Fundamentally Change” our country (the words of former President Barack Obama) . It has been carried out by the present Biden Administration with a vengeance. Agencies like the Justice Department, along with the F.B.I., have been weaponized against against its citizens, as well as the Republican Party. Tactics, such as spying on political opponents, raiding homes of individuals, arresting people for expressing their opinions at school board meetings, have become more than just isolated incidences, but an orchestrated attack on the principles of our democratic republic. This cannot continue or it will be the death of our republic as we know it. Our political parties are at each others throats on most all issues confronting us. There seems to be no common ground or compromise that the parties can agree on. By accusing the other side of attacking our democracy, spreading bigotry and racism, and acting like fascists, will not solve our many problems. Most of this animus is directed at the Republicans by the Democrats. If the Republicans retaliate in kind, chaos will occur and our enemies around the world will take advantage of a weakened United States. We can't let that happen.
