Chuck on the right side
THIS IS A BLOG THAT TRIES TO APPEAL TO THE AVERAGE CONSERVATIVE CITIZEN AND HAS NO AGENDA OTHER THAN TELLING THE TRUTH AS WE SEE IT.
Ever since socialist Bernie Sanders ran for president in the Democrat primaries in 2016, and the upset victory of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the NYC primary against long-term Congressman Joe Crowley, under the banner of being a “Democrat Socialist”, it has become fashionable, among mostly left-leaning Democrats, to talk seriously about instituting some forms of socialism into their campaign playbook for the 2018 mid-term elections and thereafter.
Notwithstanding the fact that socialism hasn't worked that well wherever it has been tried, the progressive wing of the Democrat Party has latched onto some of the aspects of the socialist dogma that appeals to people lacking basic economic understanding and financial acumen, and for those looking for “freebies” from the government. A case in point, the group that seems most infatuated with socialism is the group called “millennial's” (the 18 – 35 age group). Many of the people in this group have been nurtured by our educational system by mostly far-left teachers and professors who make up about 90% of the faculties in our schools and colleges. Also, many of those millennial's who went through our colleges and universities, have rung up a goodly amount of debt through their student loans. The platform of Bernie and Alexandria offers the millennial's that if the “Democrat Socialists” ascend to power, those student loans will be forgiven. It makes the mouths of the student debtors salivate at the thought of having their loans being wiped out by the government, headed up by people like Bernie and Alexandria (you can also throw in Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Maxine Waters, along with the DNC Chairman, Tom Perez). All socialist leaning politicians. These dupes (a/k/a Democrat Socialists), don't realize that our founders organized our country and its Constitution in the form of a democratic republic with an emphasis on free enterprise capitalism. For the past 220 years, that system has worked wonders as the United States is the wealthiest and considered the most free country in the world today. We're not perfect and we do have “warts”, but we're better than any country that is in 2nd place. To change that system to being a “Democrat Socialist” country defies all logic. In a quote once uttered by Sir Winston Churchill in comparing the socialist and capitalist systems, he said the following; “The main vice of capitalism is the uneven distribution of prosperity, the main vice of socialism is the even distribution of misery”. The people who profess that socialism is preferred over capitalism because the wealth of a country is not evenly distributed in a fair manner, never tell you that socialism only works when it is paid for by capitalism (ex: China). The Chinese economy started to boom when they inserted forms of capitalism into their communist system. Today, there are many millionaires in China due to the insertion of capitalism. Once you take away the incentive to succeed, according to your ability, and pass it to the government to take care of you and society, the whole system will eventually collapse (ex: U.S.S.R.) due to lack of innovation and the desire to better one's self on the part of its citizens under that oppressive system. Let's hope this infatuation with socialism dies a swift death in our country, as we all should want to remain the preeminent country in the world under our mostly capitalist system. To fundamentally change our country, as former President Obama promised to do when he first ran for president, and his policies of an intrusive government with many government regulations and controls after he became president, was an example of why we had such slow economic growth which our country endured during his 8 years in the White House. We all should be able to see that too much government (which is the main thrust of socialism) would be the death knell for any country that would yearn to be prosperous and to give its citizens a better way of life. For all those misguided individuals that think socialism is the answer, here is what that "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher said about socialism: "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money". When you take the incentive out of a person to better himself financially by working under socialism (the government), you will find that innovation and entrepreneurship will disappear and the economy will eventually become bankrupt (ex: Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela, So. Africa etc., etc.). Remember, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
